Thrive: New Years

With a large move, like the one we made from Buffalo to Chapel HIll, comes Western NY cultural withdrawal. We’ve craved kaiser rolls and Frank’s hot sauce, searched for hockey fans and had the urge to pretend an island was a round about, but just now, as we are in Buffalo for the Holidays, do we feel the need to be heavily dosed with techno and DnB.

I was stuck on a gift for my good friend and avid cooker, Lindsey, who spends just as much time in the kitchen as the rest of us do in front of the computer. When she told me that she was thinking of going back to culinary school, I thought an apron would be the perfect celebratory gift.

DIY Simple Desk

Every designer requires a large table or desk to work on. When we moved into our office, we realized we did not have very much furniture but, I needed to get something for Laura to use, other than the kitchen table. On a tight budget and a limited supply of tools, I opted to build something fun yet simple. A few 2x4’s, a Luan door and a handful of bolts is all I needed to build a nice little desk - for about $40.

Print Design : Invites & Auction Tickets

Project: Invitations and Auction Item Tickets
Client: The ArtsCenter
Usage: We held Benefit Party for the ArtsCenter to celebrate the future construction of their new building / expansion. Theater performances, arts classes and concerts would be auctioned off.

My limited technical knowledge of print design stems from the first few semesters of my college experience so this project I had to depend solely on my design aesthetic. But alas - I’m no longer trapped in the realm of web-friendly fonts!
